Eek!! I've been MIA...again!
A fellow mommysavers member was asking about blogging, and I've been so busy, but right now DS is running around and DH is playing xbox. I think I have a few minutes.
I've already started my christmas shopping! Since we're going on 1 income, ive had to think about this a little bit. I've already gotten a few things though :)
* For DS, I cashed in some pamper points and got him a ring stacker for 40 points! Its made of wood and all that fun stuff. He'll have a blast! I've also been going through free samples and getting him things from there. He's gotten a small box of honey nut cherrios for his stocking. He LOVES thoses!!! Plus, I've collected some free DVDs over the year that i'll throw in there!
*For my mom, I got some more free samples of body wash and soaps and I had a loopha that was brand new for her stocking. She will also be getting some books from swaptree.com.
Do you need more ideas? How about some homemade gift baskets? Just think of a theme and add to it!
-If you have a book lover: find a pretty basket and add a book or two(i usually get used books that look brand new from swaptree.com or my local used book store with my store credit), a bookmark(even better if you can make it homemade!!!), a book light and a snack or two. Wah-la!
-I did this one for my dad last year. A movie gift basket! I had gotten him a movie with my employee discount when I worked at Hollywood Video. Usually around Christmas time they have a deal where if you buy their movies used, they will give you a new case and shrinkwrap it. Nobody will ever know ;). Well anyways, add in a movie and your classic movie treats: popcorn, some candy and a soda. Check out the dollar stores for some awesome deals. Or buy some candy on clearance after Halloween is over!
-Spa gift basket. Theres many ways to make your own bath salts for half the price! Find a pretty jar and add a ribbon! Add in some bubblebath, soaps or shower gels.
-If your crafty, theres so many things you can make! I joined a few recipe swaps on www.splitcoaststampers.com where I made 26 of one recipe, they'll be swapped with others, and I will get 25 other types of recipes back! You can give it to friends or family that likes to cook! So easy! Tie it up with a pretty ribbon. Of course you can also make sets of cards, scrapbooks or a stationary set.
So...lets sum it up!
-Check www.swaptree.com it has CDs, DVDs, Video Games and books. I've never had a problem with anything I've recieved.
-Bartering! On mommysavers.com I traded a portible DVD player for some winter clothes for DS that looked brand new. :)
-Go to used bookstores. That way you know right there exactly what condition its in.
-Free samples work great as stocking stuffers!!
So, I hope that helps! Let me know if you have some great ideas of your own!!

Wow! Its JUNE!!!
I've been HORRIBLE with the family budget lately. So, DH and I are seeing what we can do.
June Grocery Budget: 300$
Its up a little since we are going to California, and I plan to bring snacks with us. DS is now on milk instead of formula(Yup, hes a whole 1 year old now!), and hes almost done with jar baby foods.
Can I just say, we're already going though milk like crazy? I spotted a 3/5$ sale so I'll have to make my way over there.

If your not happy....
Tell the maker of your product! Recently, I've had 2 luvs diapers tear on me before I got them on my son. Waste of money! I wrote them an email and are sending out compensation for me. They we're cheaper than the Walmarts Parents choice kind with a coupon. They were very nice and replied right away.

Scrapbooking deals!
Today, I was on the search for some 1$(or around there) clear stamps! I first went to the scrapbooing-warehouse.com and found some on sale for 1.89. I HATE paying for shipping! They wanted like 7$ shipping and my scrapbooking budget was 25$. So I went to joann.com and found the same stamps for 1.39$ each! Plus I did my google-ing and found a free shipping code!!
I also got a block to mount the clear stamps on, and a "Fall Rub-on stack" that was on clearence for 3$!
Heres the stamps I got. I ended up getting 11 different ones.
I ended up getting everything for under 22$! DH will be proud!

Car Insurance Savings
I saved money switching our car insurance!!
Zack was paying 155$(State Farm) a month for his and mine was 72$(Allstate) a month. Since we still live at my moms house she switched it to hers so everybody could drive all the cars(we have 3 cars). Our total now is 143$(Allstate) a month...FOR BOTH OF US! Thats a savings of 86$ a month! We also got the discount for being married.

April Grocery Budget!
We're in for 280$ again! I'd better get a move on with coupons and such! I'd already gone shopping for the first week. I'll need to edit this post later to put in the total so far.
We are also doing a 3 week spending freeze again!
The bad news: My truck fuel pump broke! The place we got it towed wanted to charge us 900$ NOT including labor. Next place I called wanted 710$ including labor, the next place wanted 615$ including labor, and then I called my dad and just told me that my husband(oh, btw, I got married!) would be able to do it himself, no problem. So I called the auto parts store, and they charge 282$ for the part! I love that now I know how to look around for the best deal!! LOL anyways...the pump is on the approved spending list!
Also, soon, my other blog will be my 'business' I guess you can say. Handmade by Jessica! I'll be selling my homemade cards, as a hobby, to support my craft store addiction. Either way, if nothing happens with it, I can still give the cards away as gifts for birthdays and christmas and such.

I love this feeling!
Theres a total of 300$ left on both of our credit cards! This will be paid off really soon, and I'm so excited! We paid off most of it with our tax refund which was great. They keep uping my limit on there after almost 3 years of having the card. It started at 700$ and now is up to 3,000$ which is bad....but it all happened within a few months.
So...Heres my March grocery budget....already over!:(
Starting budget: 280$
Walmart. 117.79$ - saved in coupons 4.65$
Walmart. 97.52$ - saved in coupons 9.35$
Smiths 24.09$ - saved in coupons/and store card 10.74$
Big Lots 3.42$
Walgreens 8.98$
Smiths 25.89$ - saved in coupons 2.25$
Smiths 30.18$ - saved in coupons 7.28$
total: 307.87$ saved in coupons 34.27$
HORRIBLE! Over by 27.87$
My boyfriend and I are on another spending freeze. We have our approved list, and our grocery budget is going to be 280$ for April. I'm going to go shopping weekly with a budget of 70$to see if its easier for me to shop for the week. We'll see how it goes...I might switch back in the middle of the month.

Shame on me!
I have been super busy! Its been FOREVER since I've posted.
I've still been keeping up with my grocery budget and such. :)
I've been thinking about starting a little home business but I dont know where to start! Everywhere I've looked said go to blogger and start up a page with the products on it! I have no idea.
I'll keep it updated!
